If Carr signs elsewhere, do we bring in a vet?
Think it could be Delhomme? I kinda hope not.

    Giants Lose Carr

QB David Carr, who was an unrestricted free agent, has found a new home.

The former understudy to Eli Manning, who aspired to compete for a starting job, agreed to terms earlier this evening with San Francisco, with whom he had been negotiating since yesterday. Carr, who is from nearby Bakersfield, Calif., will provide veteran depth Alex Smith, the fifth year pro who is projected as the starter, Shaun Hill, and Nate Davis

Meanwhile, the Giants have scheduled a workout with former Indianapolis QB Jim Sorgi on Monday, according to his agent, Matt Brei. Sorgi, who backed up Peyton Manning, heads a short list of potential veteran backup quarterback candidates to replace Carr.

I liked Carr and think he really did good for himself here. I think he has a great shot at resurrecting his career in San Fran. Alex Smith and Shaun Hill arent much competition and with Crabtree and Davis he has good young targets, also a solid running game with Gore. They should still work to improve the line but I think Carr can do some good things there.

    very true

I have a lot of time for David Carr, his time in NY was good for both him and the franchise. I wish him all the best.

I think the biggest reason in addition to a chance to win a starting job is being close to his hometown of Bakersfield

Kinda figured that Carr wouldn't be back.

I think there are some options out there though.

Thats a little over 3 a year. He's not there just to be a back up. Carr will start and win them a division title.

Oh no, Does this mean the end to the Anti-Carr Campaign started by Patrick Willis? confused

The Giants are now in position to sign one of the 49ers back-ups since they're all better than Carr. Very Happy
