If the Giants want to trade for DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska, what about trading Osi Umenyiora and #15 to the Rams for #1?

That would reunite Umenyiora with Spagnuolo and allow them to still get a quality player at #15. It will also be a heck of a lot cheaper in $$ terms.

The #1 pick is worth a contract around 6 years, $72 million ($41.7M guaranteed)

whereas #15 is worth a contract around 5 years, $18 million ($10.435M guaranteed)

and Osi's vale to the Rams would be around 3 years, $11.5million (nothing guaranteed)

Umenyiora's salaries: 2010: $3.1 million (+ $1.1 million in roster bonuses), 2011: $3.125 million, 2012: $3.975

This make alot of sense from a financial point of view for the Rams, particularly as the Rams have solidified both QB and DT by signing AJ Feely and Fred Robbins.

This is a reasonable idea, but only if Osi is on the way out, which is far from certain.

I think I would prefer to trade #15, #46 and our 2011 1st round pick for #1

Na like I said when I first mentioned it, I think it will cost more than that. Osi has good value but to get from 15 to 1 its going to take a lot. I'm thinking Cofield or Hixon and maybe another late round pick or player on the Moss/Wilkinson level.
